Guiding Institutions Through Clear, Strategic Communications
Julie Jette is a communications leader with more than 20 years of experience in higher education, health care, and journalism. She specializes in crisis management, media outreach, and strategic brand development and planning. Most recently, she served as Interim Senior Vice President of Communications at Brandeis University, where she guided messaging that strengthened Brandeis’ standing as a global research and liberal arts institution.
With her foundation in journalism and deep expertise in media relations, internal communications, and reputation management, Julie helps organizations tell their stories with clarity and impact. She is known for translating complex issues into messages that resonate with wide audiences, ranging from policymakers and journalists to students and faculty. Her combination of strategic insight and a collaborative approach enables institutions to communicate with authenticity, clarity, and confidence—especially when the stakes are highest.

Previously, Julie served as Director of Media Relations at Tufts Medical Center. She led communications strategy and tactics around partnerships, program expansions, and financial disclosures, and coordinated the hospital’s communications response to the 2012 Boston Marathon bombing. Earlier in her career, Julie was a reporter for The Patriot Ledger, The Berkshire Eagle, and The Prague Post, covering health care, business, politics, and international economics.
Education and Service
Julie earned a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University. She is also an elected Town Meeting Member in Brookline, Massachusetts, and has served on local boards focused on education, climate, transportation, and recreation.
